Correct Answer - Option 4 : Less than 80 km

Transmission lines are classified as follows based on length.

a) Short transmission lines (less than 80 km)

b) Medium transmission lines (80 km to 160 km)

c) Long transmission lines (more than 160 km)

The transmission lines which have length less than 80 km are generally referred as short transmission lines.

For short length, the shunt capacitance of this type of line is neglected and other parameters like electrical resistance and inductance are lumped.
