Correct Answer - Option 1 : A

Given: A blacksmith has five iron articles A, B, C, D and E, each having a different weight.

Let the weight of article C be x

So, from the given statements:

1) B weighs four and half times as much as C

Therefore, weight of B = 4.5x

2) A weighs twice as much as B

Therefore, weight of A = 9x

3) C weighs half as much as D

Therefore, weight of D = 2x

4)  D weighs half as much as E

Therefore, weight of E = 4x

So, the weight of five articles in ascending order would be

C < D < E < B < A

So, the heaviest article would be A.

Hence, option 1 is the correct answer.
