Correct Answer - Option 1 : Rs. 48.6

GIVEN:

Price of apples = Rs. 40, Rs. 50, Rs .60

Expenditure each year = Rs. 3600

FORMULA USED:

Average = Sum of observations/Total number of observations

CALCULATION:

Total quantity of apples in 3 years = 3600/40 + 3600/50 + 3600/60

⇒ 90 + 72 + 60 = 222 kg

Total expenditure in 3 years = 3 × 3600 = Rs. 10800

Average cost = 10800/222 = Rs. 48.6 per kg

∴ The average cost is 48.6 per kg
