Correct Answer - Option 3 : 144

Given:

If (2x + 3) : (5x + 4) is the triplicate ratio of 3 ∶ 4.

Concept used:

Triplicate ratio of a ∶ b = a3 ∶ b3

Calculation:

Triplicate ratio of 3 ∶ 4 = 33 ∶ 43

⇒ 27 ∶ 64

According to the question,

(2x + 3)/(5x + 4) =  27/64

⇒ 64(2x + 3) = 27(5x + 4)

⇒ 128x + 192 = 135x + 108

⇒ 7x = 84

⇒ x = 12

So, square of 12  = 144

∴ The square of 12  is 144.
