Correct Answer - Option 1 : The Indravati

Water is the most important natural resource for any country. India is one such country in the world that has a good number of rivers and tributaries, which are helpful in the field of agriculture as well as inland transportation.

  • The Tel river is a tributary of the Mahanadi.
  • Similarly, the Indravati River is a tributary of Godavari.
  • Both rivers are part of the peninsular river system.
  • Both Mahanadi and Godavari rivers are East flowing rivers and fall into the Bay of Bengal.

Thus, it is clear that a tributary of Godavari is the Indravati River.

The peninsular river system is divided into two parts.

  •  East Flowing Rivers-
    • East flowing rivers form the Delta
    • East flowing rivers fall in the Bay of Bengal
