Correct Answer - Option 1 : February 1922

The correct answer is February 1922.

  • Gandhiji decided to take back the ‘Non-Cooperation Movement’ in February 1922 because at Chauri-Chaura, Gorakhpur, a peaceful mob protest turned violent which resulted in the deaths of 22 policemen.

  • This left Gandhiji furious and he realized that satyagrahis need more training to be ready for mass struggle.
  • The non-cooperation movement was started on 1 August 1920 by Mahatma Gandhi with the principle of self-governance and full independence.
