The molecular formula of benzene is C6H6. Benzene has a closed hexagonal structure with carbon atoms present at each vertex bonded with one hydrogen. The carbon in order to complete tetravalency forms a double bond with adjoining carbon. The double bonds are present only at alternate position. The alternate double bonds are also represented by a ring.
