Correct Answer - Option 1 : Electrostatic force

The correct option is Electrostatic Force.

Concept:

Electrostatic Force

  • The Electrostatic force is the force that acts between two charged particles.
  • An object gets positively charged by losing electrons and gets negatively charged by gaining electrons.
  • These charges exert forces on each other. The force is attractive if charges are negative and repulsive when charges are positive.
  • An object getting charge can induce a charge in other objects and apply electrostatic force on it.

Charging by rubbing

  • Two objects may get charged when they are rubbed against each other.
  • If we comb hair, the comb gets charged and so does hair.
  • This can be observed by bringing small papers near charge.
  • This static charge can be acquired by electrical insulators such as wool.

Explanation:

  • When we pull off the sweater, the woollen cloth gets rubbed by our bodies.
  • Due to this rubbing transfer of electrons takes place.
  • This transfer of charge process causes a crackling sound and sparks are observed.

  • Magnetic force: The force by which a magnet attracts iron or other magnetic materials is called magnetic force. An electric current-carrying conductor also applies magnetic force at its nearby.
  • Gravitational force: The force acting between two masses by virtue of mass is the gravitational force. Anything falls on earth by the gravitational force of the Earth.
  • Muscular force: The force which we apply by our muscles is called muscular force.
