Correct Answer - Option 3 : 14

Given:

Age of people = 18, 12, 10, 16, 19, 15, 13, 10.

Concept used:

Median is the middle number of all the observations when the numbers are arranged in ascending order.

If the number of observations is even, then the median is average of two middle terms.

If n is odd then, Median = {(n/2) + 1}th term

If n is even then, Median = [(n/2)th term + {(n/2) + 1}th term]/2

Calculations:

Arranging the ages in ascending order,

10, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19

∵ Number of terms = 8 i.e. even.

So, Median = [(n/2)th term + {(n/2) + 1}th term]/2

(n/2)th term = 8/2

⇒ 4th term

⇒ 13

{(n/2) + 1}th term = {(8/2) + 1}th term

⇒ 5th term

⇒ 15

Median = (13 + 15)/2

⇒ 28/2

⇒ 14

∴ The median of the given data is 14.
