Correct Answer - Option 2 : Both the statements I and II together are needed to answer the question.

Formula used:

Simple Interest = (P × R × T)/100

Where, P = Principal

R = Rate of interest per annum

T = Time

Statement (I):

Simple interest = 10%

Time = 5 years

∴ The statement (I) alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statement (II):

Rakesh return 5% of the total amount

Return amount he received Rs. 240.

5% of total amount = Rs. 240

∴ The statement (I) alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

∴ Both the statements I and II together are needed to answer the question.
