Correct Answer - Option 1 : 54 km/hr

GIVEN:

The sum of the length of Trains = 380 meter

Time taken to cross each other in the same direction = 38 seconds

Time taken to cross each other in opposite direction = 19 seconds

FORMULA USED:

⇒ Speed of Train = (Length of Train/Time taken)

ASSUMPTION:

Let the speed of Train A and B be (a) and (b) m/s.

CALCULATION:

When crossing in the opposite direction.

⇒ a + b = 380/19

⇒ a + b = 20 m/s      ----(1)

When crossing in the same direction.

⇒ a - b = 380/38

a - b = 10 m/s      ----(2)

Solving eq(1) and eq(2)

⇒ a = 15 m/s

⇒ b = 5 m/s

⇒ Speed of faster train = a = 15 m/s

⇒ Speed of faster train = a = 54 km/hr
