Given:

Distance = time x speed

Calculation:

Let speed of x and y be a and 2a

Distance is same

(a + 1) × 5 = 4 × (2a – 1)

⇒ a = 3

Now, Distance = (3 × 3) km = 9 km

∴ X can travel 9 km in 3 hours.
