Correct Answer - Option 4 : Rs. 1000

Given:

Man spends per month = Rs. 875

Savings of a month = \(12\frac{1}{2} %\)%

Formula used:

Total income = spending per month + savings per month

Calculations:

Let the total income be 'x'

x = 875 + 25/2% of x

⇒ x - 25/2% of x = 875

⇒ x - 25x/(2 × 100) = 875

⇒ (200x - 25x)/200 =  875

⇒ 175x = 875 × 200

⇒ x = 875 × 200 ÷ 175

⇒ x = 1000

∴ His monthly salary is Rs.1000
