Correct Answer - Option 1 : 30 m

Given:

The length of a rectangle is 5m more than its breadth. The area of the hall is 750 m2

Concept used:

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

Calculation:

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x meter

Length of the rectangle will be x + 5 meter

Area of rectangle = x(x + 5)

⇒ x2 + 5x = 750

⇒ x2 + 5x - 750

⇒ x2 + 30x - 25x - 750 = 0

⇒ x(x + 30) -25(x + 30)

⇒ (x + 30) (x - 25)

⇒ x = 25, x = -30

Breadth = 25m

Length = 25 + 5 = 30 m

∴ Length of the rectangle is 30 m.
