Correct Answer - Option 1 :
The statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question but, statement II alone is not sufficient.
Concept:
Average = sum of the numbers/5
Statement I.
Let, Consecutive odd numbers will be of the form
x – 4, x – 2, x, x + 2, x + 4
Sum of second and third number is given
(x - 2) + x = 184
x = 93
By solving it we will get the numbers.
Average = sum of the numbers/5
Average = {(x – 4) + (x + 4) + (x – 2) + (x + 2) + x}/5
Average = x = 93
So, Statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question
Statement II.
Difference of third and second number is given.
(x – 2) – x = 2
Here variable is cancelled out so, we didn’t find value of x or average.
So, statement II is not sufficient
∴ The statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question but, statement II alone is not sufficient.
