Correct Answer - Option 3 : 0.6

Given:

Length of the rod = 72 cm

One part is (1/5)th of the other.

Calculation:

Total length of rod = 72cm

Let First part be x

Second part = (1/5)x

⇒ x + x/5 = 72

⇒ 6x/5 = 72

⇒ x = 60

Now, the first part = 60 cm

The second part = 72 - 60 = 12 cm

∴ The longest part is 60 cm.

1 metre = 100 cm

∴ The longest part is 0.6 m.
