Let length of bases of trapezoid are a and b.

Also let MN is mid-line of trapezoid.

\(\therefore\) MN = \(\frac{a+b}2\)

 ⇒ a + b = 2MN = 2 x 8 = 16 cm

Hence, those length of midline are possible whose sum is 16 cm.
