The creator of first man made plastic is Alexander Parkes the name of the plastic is parkesine. To prepare this material Parkes heated nitrated cotton which previously soaked in sulphuric acid and made fabric soft and elastic with oil and camphor. The end product was an ivory – coloured material that became distorted when subjected to heat. This is named as Parkesine.
