(5 × 6) × 2 = 5 × (6 × 2)

L.H.S : (5 × 6) × 2 = 30 × 2 = 60 

R.H.S : 5 × (6 × 2) = 5 × 12 = 60 

∴ L.H.S = R.H.S 

So (5 × 6) × 2 = 5 × (6 × 2) 

∴ Multiplication of whole numbers is associative.
