NO2 Containodd number of valence electrons. It behaves as a typical molecule. In the liquid and solid state, lt dimerise to form stable N2O4 molecule, with even number of electrons. Therefore, NO2 is paramagnetic, while N2O4 is diamagnetic in which two unpaired electrons get paired.
