Frustration was written in bold letters on the faces of the voyagers. Ceaseless efforts had brought very little relief to them. But they did not lose hopes. They had been pumping out the accumulated water for the last 36 hours. A few centimetres of water was still left. Because of the strong wind no sail could be put on the main mast.
