‘Born’ is an adjective applied to indicate ‘having qualities’ or aptitude from birth. And it is difficult to bring about a change or transformation in them. Here the poet likes to watch games and sports very much but he is timid by nature. He does not want to be a player because a player is always prone to physical injuries and the poet does not have that courage to tolerate them. He wants to remain as a spectator for ever.
