The following efforts should be made to prevent drought/famine :
1. Every year, more and more trees should be planted and nurtured.
2. Prevent atmospheric pollution to maintain the humidity in the atmosphere.
3. Wells should be deepened or should be recharged to get water for drinking and for irrigation.
4. Water storage tanks or reservoirs should be built to store rainwater and storm water.
5. Water should be stored by constructing check dams across small rivers, streams or water creeks.
6. Attempts should be made to store rainwater and increase ground water volume.
7. Length of canals, attached to main dam, should be increased.
8. Lakes should be made deeper to store more rainwater.
