These are composed of two similar or different units of monosaccharides, joined together by an oxide linkage known as glycosidic linkage. Upon hydrolysis these form respective monosaccharide units.

eg.

It is nonreducing sugar because the reducing groups on anomeric carbons (C–1 of glucose & C–2 of fructose) are involved in glycosidic linkage.
