Best answer

The correct option (a) ex tan–1ex

Explanation:

y = ex tan–1 ex – (1/2) ℓn (1 + e2x)

∴ (dy/dx) = ex ∙ [1/(1 + e2x)] ∙ ex + ex tan–1ex – (1/2) [1/(1 + e2x)] ∙ e2x ∙ 2

= [(e2x)/(1 + e2x)] + extan–1ex – [(e2x)/(1 + e2x)]

= ex tan–1ex
