Three capacitors have capacitances of 0.5 µF, 0.3 µF and 0.2 µF respectively. They are first connected to have maximum capacitance and then connected to have minimum capacitance. Find the ratio of maximum capacitance to minimum capacitance.

 (i) For maximum capacitance, all the capacitors will have to be connected in parallel.

CP = 0.5 + 0.3 + 0.2 = 1 µF

(ii) For minimum capacitance, all the capacitors will have to be connected in series.
