दिया गया रैखिक समीकरण युग्म : x – y = 8 तथा 3x – 3y = 16

उक्त समीकरण युग्म से स्पष्ट है कि यहाँ

a1 = 1, b1 = – 1, c1 = – 8

a2 = 3, b2 = – 3, c2 = – 16

अतः दिया गया रैखिक समीकरण युग्म असंगत हैं।
