The religious festivals are Durga Puja, Diwali, Holi, Christmas, Ganesh Chaturthi, Pongal, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Guru Nanak Jayanti. Important national festivals are Independence Day, Republic Day, and Gandhi Jayanti.
