A tab is a clickable area at the top of the window. After clicking, the content of the window below the tab will display the document or interface of the tab.
Tabs allow you to switch between individual documents or web pages. The currently selected tab is usually lighter in colour than the other tabs. The interface is designed to look like the tabs at the top of a traditional folder, which can be seen from the file cabinet.
