No, a person who is an expert in computers and their technologies is not expected to be great in communication too. To cite an example from my life, I would like to share the incident,
- I had an opportunity to get into generating content forums and there were many rounds to get qualified.
- The first round was a written round, where I got through easily.
- The second round was impromptu, where I had to speak on the stage instantly about a given topic. I lost the round because I was unable to deliver my message to the audience.
