Good manners are like wild elephants, it is not easy to tame them, but once you tame them, they become the most important and useful part of your lives. Good manners help in maintaining a healthy lifestyle including eating habits, sleeping patterns and physical exercises. Certain good manners that people should learn are empathy, self-consciousness, helpfulness, being thankful, gratitude towards others, respect to elders and discipline.
Good manners are what makes a person successful and not his or her wealth and possessions. Not everyone is born with good manner, good manners should be inculcated with everyday practice without fail. There are personalities in the world which are living examples of how good manners can make you great. Certain great personalities with good manners as their wealth and not money are APJ Abdul Kalam, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi and Abraham Lincoln. These people are a source of huge inspiration to today’s people to achieve things in life by developing a good personality with good manners in life.
Good manners in life should be thought to children from a young age so that they grow up to become a better human being. Never should good manners be thought to make money or score good marks. Developing good manners is much more than materialistic success and society defined success. Developing good manners will make our society a better place to live in.
