The national emblem is a symbol of gratification that is used by a particular country. The national emblem of a country is unique and cannot be used by any other country. The national emblems are official seals that are used by the central and state government of a country. Besides the government bodies, any use of the unauthorized national emblem is prohibited by the law. The national emblem can be anything ranging from animals to flowers.
The national emblem of India is the adaptation of the lion capitals of Sarnath. The lion capitals is a creation of third century BC ruler, Asoka. The national emblem consists of four lions standing on an abacus with pictorial inscriptions. Three of the lions are visible, and the fourth remains hidden. The lions denote courage, confidence, pride and power each. The presence of Dharma Chakkras denotes peace and unity. The other animals present in the national emblem are a horse, bull, elephant and lion. They depict Buddhist doctrines each. The national emblem of India signifies peace and goodwill.
