Correct option is (3) Aqueous neutral

KMnO4 in aqueous neutral medium reduces to MnO2. 

2KMnO4 + H2O → 2MnO2 + 2KOH + 3/2 O2

\(\therefore\) Oxidation state of Mn in KMnO4 changes from +7 to +4 i.e., by 3 units.
