A metal road moves at a constant velocity in a direction perpendicular to its length & a constant uniform magnetic field too. Select the correct statement (s) from the following.

The correct option (b) There is an electric field in the rod

Explanation:

Let metal rod AB moves Parallel to X axis. Let the uniform magnetic field point in positive z direction. The free electrons of metal rod will experience magnetic force towards B.

∴ There will be excess e in B end and shortage of electrons on end A.

Hence end B is negative changed & A is positive charged.

Hence field is set up in the rod.
