The correct option (C) 39°C

Explanation:

Vrms = √(3RT/MO) i.e. Vrms = √(T/MO

as rms Velocities are same,

√(TO2 / MO2) = √(TN2 / MN2)

∴ (TO2 / TN2) = (MO2 / MN2)

given  TN2 = 0°C = 273K

MO2 = 32 & MN2 = 28

∴ (TO2 / 273) = (32 / 28)

∴ TO2 = 273 × (8/7)

= 312K

= 312 – 273 = 39°C
