Amines exhibit following types of isomerism :
(i) Chain isomerism : This is due to difference in the carbon chain of the two isomers.
\(\underset{n-Butyl\,amine}{CH_3.CH_2.CH_2.CH_2.NH_2}\,\,\,\,\underset{Isobutyl\,amine}{(CH_3)_2CH.CH_2.NH_2}\)
(ii) Position isomerism : This is due to the difference in the position of the amino group.

(iii) Metamerism : This is due to the difference in the nature of the alkyl groups, e.g.

(iv) Functional isomerism : This is due to the difference in the nature of the functional group (amino group), e.g
