दिया गया वक्र y = x3 – x

x के सापेक्ष अवकलन करने पर,

dy/dx = 3 – x2 – 1 ..(i)

समौ. (i) में x = 2 रखने पर,

(dy/dx)(x=2) = 3 (2)2 – 1 = 11

अतः स्पर्श रेखा की प्रवणता = 11,
