How to sort a dictionary by its keys or values?

You can use the sorted() function with a custom key function.

my_dict = {'apple': 3, 'banana': 1, 'orange': 2}
sorted_by_keys = dict(sorted(my_dict.items()))
sorted_by_values = dict(sorted(my_dict.items(), key=lambda x: x[1]))
