Consider the following Chemical equation :

\(a \,Al_2O_3 + b\,HCl \rightarrow c\, AlCl_3 +d\,H_2O\)

In order to balance this chemical equation, the values of a, b, c and d must be

(A) 1, 6, 2 and 3

(B) 1, 6, 3 and 2

(C) 2, 6, 2 and 3

(D) 2, 6, 3 and 2

Best answer

(C) 2, 6, 2 and 3

The balanced chemical equation is:

2Al2O3 + 6HCl → 2AlCl3 + 3H2O

Therefore, the values of a, b, c, and d are:

a = 2

b = 6

c = 2

d = 3
