Let P = (x, y). Given condition is, area of ΔPAB = 8.5 sq. unit.

=> |5(3 – y) + 1(2 – x)| = 17 => |–(x + 5y – 17)| = 17 

=> (x + 5y – 17)² = 17²

=>x² + 10xy + 25y² – 34x – 170y = 0.

=> The locus of P is x² + 10xy + 25y² – 34x – 170y = 0.
