Determine the coordinates of the focus, the equation of the directrix and the length of the latus rectum of the parabola

y2 = (8/3)x.

n: The equation of the curve is

y2 = (8/3)x = 4(2/3)x

so that a = 2/3. Hence, S = (a,0) = (2/3,0) is the focus, 

x + 2/3 = 0 or 3x + 2 = 0

is the equation of the directrix and 4/83 a  is the length of the latus rectum.
