Let vector a = i – 2j – 3k, vector b = 2i + 3j – k and vector c = λi + j + (2λ – 1)k . If vector c is parallel to the plane of the vectors(a and b), find the value of (λ2 + 1).

It is given that, vector c is parallel to the plane of the vectors (a and b), i.e.

λ = 0

Hence, the value of (λ2 + 1) is 1.
