Differentiate the following with respect to x

(i) y = x⁴ + 7x³ + 8x² + 3x + 2 + √x + 1/√x

(ii) y = a(x - 2)(x - 3) + b

(i) y = x⁴ + 7x³ + 8x² + 3x + 2 + x^1/2 + x^-1/2

(ii) y = a(x² - 5x + 6) + b

= ax² - 5ax + 6a + b

∴ dy/dx = a(2x) - 5a + 0

= 2ax - 5a
