Acetylene produces glyoxal on reductive ozonolysis.

.Explanation:

  • Acetylene is a hydrocarbon and the simplest alkyne. It is used for welding and cutting.
  • Ozonolysis is the method of oxidatively cleaving alkenes or alkynes using ozone.
  • Ozone is a reactive allotrope of oxygen. In the ozonolysis method, the unsaturated bonds are cleaved.
  • Oxidative ozonolysis produces carboxylic acids or ketones. Reductive ozonolysis gives either alcohol or carbonyl compounds.
  • Glyoxal is an organic compound which is the simplest dialdehyde. It is used for the synthesis of glyoxalic acid.

Thanks but you have been asked to show how this is obtained ...not to write the uses ..pls first try to understand the question

I understand the question very well .I explain uses with mechanism because it is so important to know and in series of mechanism its uses also clear.

It's okay but sorry u have not written anything about  the mechanism ....you have only told that (what is ozonolysis? For what it is being used ?) But not mentioned the reaction mechanism

Okay i will give you reaction mechanism . I explain ozonolysis because it is in mechanism.
