Differences between moist deciduous and dry deciduous forests are as follows:

Dry deciduous forests Moist deciduous forests
(i) These forests are found in areas having rainfall of 70-100 cms. (i) These forests are found in areas having rainfall of 100-200 cms.
(ii) These forests are found on dry eastern slopes of western ghats. (ii) These forests are found on the rainier slopes of western ghats.
(iii) Large areas have been cleared for cultivation and grazing. (iii) Not many have been cleared.
(iv) Teak, sal, neem and Bamboos. (iv) Example: Take, bamboo, sal, shisham.
