  • Abolishing the distinction between Part A. B. C and D States. 
  • Establishment of two categories of units i.e. (i) States (ii) Union Territories. 
  • Abolition of Rajpramukhs. 
  • The Act provided for creation of 14 States and 6 Union Territories.
