x2 – 18x + 77 = 0

x2 – 7x – 11x + 77 = 0

x (x – 7) – 11(x – 7) = 0

(x – 11)(x – 7) = 0

either (x – 11) = 0 or (x – 7) = 0

x = 11 or 7
