Forebrain is composed of cerebrum, thalamus and hypothalamus. Cerebrum is surrounded by thalamus. The hypothalamus is near diencephalon which is at the base of cerebrum.
Following are the functions of forebrain:
- Control of motor functions.
- Perception of different senses.
- This is the centre of thinking, intelligence, language, etc.
- Hypothalamus gives sense of hunger and thirst.
