The story delivers an important lesson to the readers that they ought to be aware and never trust on their rivals and should not take any decision without investigating the matter properly, otherwise it becomes the cause of our destruction such as the vulture becomes fool of the oily talks of the cat. She admires the vulture and the vulture becomes fool and could not recognise her actual intention to live with him.
On the other hand, the birds which found the bones of their young ones near the hollow of the tree and found the vulture there. They became angry and killed the innocent vulture without knowing reality. In this way the author wants to clear that any decision which is taken at once without watching its all sides, always proves incorrect and destructive.
कहानी पाठकों को एक महत्त्वपूर्ण शिक्षा प्रदान करती है कि उन्हें सदैव सतर्क रहना चाहिए तथा अपने । प्रतिद्वन्द्रियों पर कभी भी विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए तथा कभी भी किसी भी मामले की पूर्ण छानबीन किये बिना निर्णय नहीं लेना चाहिए अन्यथा यह हमारी बर्बादी का कारण बन जाता है जैसे कि गिद्ध बिल्ली की चिकनी-चुपड़ी बातों से मूर्ख बन जाता है। वह गिद्ध की प्रशंसा करती है तथा गिद्ध मूर्ख बन जाता है तथा उसका अपने साथ रहने का वास्तविक इरादा नहीं पहचान पाता है।
दूसरी तरफ पक्षी जो अपने बच्चों की हड़ियाँ पेड़ के खोखले के पास पाते हैं तथा गिद्ध को भी वह देखते हैं। वे नाराज हो जाते हैं तथा बिना वास्तविकता की जाँच किए, निर्दोष गिद्ध को मार देते हैं। इस तरह लेखक स्पष्ट करना चाहता है कि कोई भी निर्णय जो बिना चारों दिशाओं की जाँच के लिया जाता है सदैव गलत होता है तथा विनाशकारी सिद्ध होता है।
