The RIDF was set up by the Government in 1995-96 for financing ongoing rural infrastructure projects. The Fund is maintained by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). In 2015-16 under RIDF-XIX, the assistance of Rs 25000 crore was provided. It provides loans for various activities like-watershed facility and for the construction of village roads and bridges.
